Scope & Content This collection contains papers from the Papot family of Savannah, Georgia from 1836 to 1930. Materials of particular interest include nine slave bills of sale from 1847 to 1863 and a Confederate States Engineers document from 10 December 1864 which enrolled one of the Papot family's slaves to work on the defenses around Savannah, Georgia during the Civil War (1861-1865). Also included are newspaper clippings, two compact discs containing Papot family history, Free Mason membership documents, a lease for the proprietorship of the Pulaski House, Savannah, Georgia and other miscellaneous papers related to members of the Papot family.
