Scope & Content This collection consists of three letters from George M. Troup. In the first letter, written to the Executive Department of the House of Representatives in Milledgeville, Georgia, 1823, Troup gives John A. Cuthbert's fee as additional counsel in the case of the claim interposed by the State to the Africans. The second letter, written again to the Executive Department, describes the need of additional funds to print more copies of A.S. Clayton's Georgia Justice and O.H. Prince's Digest of the Laws of Georgia to supply to county officers. In the third letter, Troup writes to William Coffee Daniell of the appointment of Hamilton Fulton as Chief Engineer of the State.
